Hey there,

I’m Joel Champ - the director of Powered Up Electrical and Excavations. I always wanted to be a sparky and once I completed school in George Town, Tasmania, I was lucky enough to receive an apprenticeship. I’ve worked with some great electricians and mentors over my almost 20 years in the trade. In 2013, my now wife Manika and I decided to make a go of starting our own business and so Powered Up Electrical was created.

The Powered Up team consists of three tradesmen (myself being one of the team) and three apprentices.

We are a licensed electrical contractor based in North-East Tasmania servicing Launceston, Scottsdale, Lilydale, Bridport and surrounds. We specialise in heat pump installations, residential renovations, new builds and rural and industrial services.

My wife and I have three young children - Tucker , Edie and Daxton. We call Nabowla, in North-East Tasmania home. We have a dog, cat and plenty of land for the kids to run around.

When we’re not working - we love adventuring, camping, golf, footy and spending time with our extended family and friends.
